Why I decided to blog

It is almost the new year. And when the new year comes rolling in so do all the New Years Resolutions. The biggest one of them all probably being "to lose weight". I am, for probably the 7th year in a row, making that my number 1 resolution. But, this year will be different. I have decided to blog about my weight loss journey. Not that I expect anyone to actually read it. But, I figured that maybe it will give me a little bit of an extra incentive. I am hoping to lose 20 pounds and get back down to the size I once was. That was 2 kids ago. I have 3 reasons for wanting to lose weight, 1. I am in a wedding in June, 2. we are planning on getting a boat this summer and there is nothing nastier than some fat chick in a bikini. 3. I want the confidence back that I once had to be able to wear just about anything. Not, that I am going to. Being a mother of 2. But, I'd like to have that option. I think the whole "I really need to lose weight" thing really hit when, a week ago, I was looking in my closet for something to wear and couldn't find a dang thing that look good on me anymore. It was very depressing. I'm sure everyone that has ever needed to lose a few lbs can relate. I hate that I am only comfortable in a baggy sweatshirt and my "fat jeans". I think my biggest challenge will be not eating everything that I want too. I LOVE food. Especially the greasy kind. I don't really think it will be a problem to find time to go to the gym. I have a membership and also have access to one at my work. So, there shouldn't be excuses there. Just the love of food that is going to be the hurdle I will have to face. So, there you have it. Hopefully I will be able to post and use this blog as a little extra motivation. If I get brave enough, there may even be some pictures. I just don't know if I am there yet. :)
